Peer pressure - Influence from members of one's peer group.
In other words, its the exact reason why our mothers always say "If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?"
Most everything people get pressured into doing is stupid. The cinnamon challenge is one of those things.
This "fad" involves people daring each other to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon in less than 60 seconds. It may sound easy but as soon as the cinnamon is inhaled, it makes it hard to breathe and you start choking and it causes throat irritation and can cause severe scarring.
There are hundreds and thousands of videos on YouTube of people taking on this challenge which results in a orange-powdery-burst of dragon breath to burst from your mouth. WHY DOES THAT SOUND APPEALING?
If you happen to have the pleasure of knowing me personally, you know my biggest fear is birds. You must think I'm crazy. I know. I've been told this multiple times. I get this question asked frequently: "How can you be terrified of birds? They're harmless." No, they most certainty are not harmless.
It's almost impossible to avoid birds. They are everywhere no matter
where you are. Just the sight or sound of a bird terrifies me. There have been instances where I won't even get out of my car because there is a bird flying around in the parking lot.
I swear the birds see me as their prey. They all have come together and created a plan to get me. I just know it. I have been inside a mall and airports before where birds have been flying around. INSIDE. This is just not okay. It's one thing if they are flying around outside, but inside where I'm supposed to be protected from the awful creatures, now that is just messed up. I've also had seagulls steal food in my hand while sitting by the pool. I told you, they are out to get me.
I have not seen the movie The Birds and I plan on never seeing it. Most people think that is where my fear of birds come from. No, I have avoided this film at all costs. I also avoid all bird exhibits Being trapped in a small space with hundreds of birds flying around? Yeah, I'm going to pass.
So if you can't tell, I really just hate birds. I think they are Satan’s messengers.
I will never own a bird, or date someone who has a bird as a pet. There is no way I will be coming over to your house if you have a bird as a pet. Sorry, but it won't happen. And if you try to scare me with it or think it is funny, just know that I am going to ruin your life.
Enjoy this clip of a lady being attacked by birds. You will probably laugh, while I will just continue to hope that this will NEVER EVER happen to me. Fingers crossed and please keep me in your thoughts.
So what about you? What is on your Anti-Bucket list?
In Kenya, a child has a one in five chance of dying before they reach the age of 5. DDB NY and Clean-Water Organization took 4-year-old Nkaitol on a journey of a lifetime. This video is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I think four is just too young to be fulfilling your bucket list.
I of course got introvert. Apparently I'm smart and reflective. I think before I speak and take joy in having a small, close-knit group of friends. Sure, I need time to recharge after being super social, but it doesn't mean I hate socializing. In fact, I'm the best person to hang out with one-on-one.
When it comes to getting a tattoo, most people get one because it's meaningful to them. If I were to ever get a tattoo (and lets be real, I'm terrified of needles so probably not) I would want it to be special or have some kind of meaning behind it.
Some might get tatted for reasons such as gangs, to cover scar tissue or to make some money off of it. You would be surprised but people are willing to sell their bodies for advertising space. An online casino paid a Utah woman $10,000 to tattoo their logo on her forehead.
Let's face it, becoming a doctor is not an easy task. School and training go on forever and once you finally finish that you're challenged with making life-and-death decisions and long work hours every single day. Sure the paycheck is nice, but after all your student loans are you still left with much?
That's one of my reasons why I don't want to go into the medical field. Don't get me wrong, it's an incredible job and very rewarding but it's just not something I could ever do. I also have this fear of blood, throw up, needles, and death.
I'm a squeamish person and am easily grossed out. I once went into the doctors office to get an allergy shot and I passed out when the doctor walked into the room with needle in hand. And no, not every doctor looks like McDreamy or McSteamy from Greys. I of course get stuck with an old dude with gray hair.
Not to mention the smell of hospitals and how depressing they are. The only words I can think to describe the smell is sickness and old people. Yeah, definitely not a place I want to spend a 12 hour shift or really anytime for that matter.
